THE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION OF THE POLISH COMBATANTS' ASSOCIATION IN CANADA

 
 
MISSION STATEMENT:
 
The Charitable Foundation of the Polish Combatants' Association in Canada is a spiritual and material testament of the former soldiers of World War II residing in Canada.
 
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE FOUNDATION:
 
- protecting cultural and social traditions of former Polish soldiers living in Canada.
- cultivating among the Polish community, and especially among the younger generation, the spirit of national traditions of Polish veterans as well as the history of Polish Soldiers fighting in defense of freedom.
- transmitting and deepening among the Polish community and Canadian society knowledge of Polish culture and its contribution to world culture.
- providing assistance and care to the disabled and their families.- providing financial assistance to institutions in the Polish community in Canada, such as schools, university faculties, libraries, publishers, etc.
- promoting the study and research of the history of Polish soldiers living in Canada and publications on this topic.
- maintaining cultural ties with the Polish nation, its defense of interests and good reputation, with the focus of ensuring the historical truth about Poland.
- actively assisting, especially by charitable means, a free, independent and democratic Poland.- assisting students and researchers from Poland, studying in Canada.
- assisting Canadian students of Polish background, studying in Poland.
 
At the Annual General Meeting of the Foundation, held in Winnipeg MB, on March 19, 2016 a new Board of Directors was elected and a motion was also approved to move the headquarters of the Foundation to Ottawa. I wish to acknowledge the tremendous work carried out by the previous boards, and in particular, thank Mrs. Janina Rekrut and her team for helping so many Polish organizations here in Canada and in Poland. Bravo to all!! It is the intent of this Board to continue to preserve the Polish language, history, culture and social heritage of Poles settled in Canada and abroad. We will continue to promote and provide financial assistance to Polish organizations, including Polish invalids, orphans in Canada and abroad. All donations toward the Foundations's general fund or specific objectives will receive and income tax receipt. Please note that all donations are subject to a 5% administration fee. Thank you very much for your past support and we look forward to receiving your support in the future. On behalf of all the members of the Board, best wishes to everyone!
